Primary sources

Core facts are checked against published patent documents. We show the publication number, original figure references, assignee and other source data, and link each FIG. back to the original document.

Drawings

We use the original drawings from published patent documents and do not add marks that change their meaning or remove reference numbers. From Patents FIG. numbers are kept separate from original patent figure numbers.

Jurisdiction of published FIGs

Research may review published patent documents from multiple jurisdictions, but final article FIGs are, by default, anchored to a corresponding United States patent publication. When the same invention has a US family member, we return to that US publication for the final source. If no suitable US publication is available, we replace the candidate or review its rights individually.

Delivery

Article drawings are rendered at high resolution from the reviewed patent PDFs or published drawings and served by From Patents. Published pages are designed not to depend on third-party image-hosting URLs at runtime.

Product outcomes

We distinguish among officially documented links, related products without a verified direct link, and unverified public-product links. Similar appearance or functionality alone is not treated as proof that a specific patent was used in a product.
