EDITORIAL POLICY

Selection is part
of the article.

Selection

We review a broad pool of candidates, then narrow it by whether the drawings are compelling, the idea is unexpected, and the set creates a useful way to see the theme. We do not pad a list merely to reach a number.

Each figure should offer a distinct discovery. We choose drawings that reveal an action or use and explain the mechanism and its practical context with enough depth to follow. We neither cut an article to the minimum figure count nor pad it with overlapping ideas. Each article receives a topic-specific headline rooted in the actual selected drawings rather than a repeated generic series title.

Primary sources

Important factual claims are checked against published patent material, with links from each FIG. back to the source.

Wording

We do not present patented technology as an announced product, active development project, or shipping specification unless the source supports that claim.

Corrections

When we confirm an error, we correct the article and update the Updated date for material changes.
